Miner Library Account Application

Non-Medical Center Applicants Only

Remote access to the electronic resources of the Miner Library is available to all members of the University of Rochester community. Access to the network is issued on an individual basis. Fill in this form as completely as possible since the omission of information may delay activation of your account. For Medical Center affiliates, please use the other online application form.

Account activation will be completed within a week. If the account is needed sooner, a rush process is available by special request. Account procedures and information forms will be sent to the campus or home address that you specify.

What Can I Get with an Account on the Miner Network?

Your Miner account password will enable access to the PsycINFO database only. To access the other Ovid databases as well as the Digital Library, there is an annual fee which depends on your current status.

The other Ovid databases available are MEDLINE, CINAHL, Current Contents, HealthSTAR and CancerLit. The Digital Library is an integrated Web based menu that allows access to the Ovid databases, selected Internet and full-text resources such as Stat!-Ref, Harrison's Internal Medicine, SAM-CD, ROARing Cat, etc (full-text accessible by PC only). Requires an Internet connection and Netscape 3.0 or Internet Explorer 3.0
